The project consists of the adaptive reuse and re-purposing of an existing building complex in Athens, Greece. The complex has a long history of reconfiguration as it used to be an elementary school before becoming an outdoor movie theater, which was its most recent use. The project looks at the transformation of the existing complex of 3 individual buildings and the courtyard that connects them into a complex of offices, R&D labs and social spaces for the company. Given the fact that the project is planned as a phased operation, the design proposes the distribution of the three programmatic uses into the three distinct buildings on site. Taking advantage of Athens’ mild climate, the project establishes strong connections between the three buildings through the open, shared courtyard in the middle of the site.
